Develop Your Character by Making Active Choices in the Word of God
Christ holds them responsible for what they want. If we have no more control of the content of our character than we do the color of our skin, then it ultimately is saying you have no control over tent of your character. And so when you refrain from lying, and you refrain from sinning, and you choose to instead partake of the word of god and go to church then your character is developed. That's your responsibility, develop your character. It's not passively waiting for god to somehow make it happen.
