Race says that central bank or corporate issued cryptocurrencies are a better alternative than Bitcoin as it is too unstable to be used as a medium of exchange. Since Bitcoin has an absolutely scarce money supply, I would argue that it will continue to appreciate on an exchange ratio basis against fiat currencies which are inevitably printed into worthlessness over time. As we increase the rate of inflation in the US dollar, I think this creates an osmotic pressure that pushes people into Bitcoin over time. It's like no one can force you to use Bitcoin. But that option becomes more financially valuable as currency gets debased quicker and quicker.
