The Six Days of Work Followed by a Seventh Yom Kippur
The first and seventh day of Pesach, one day of Shavuah's, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, the first day of Sukkot and Shminyad Sarat. That's seven in all. On six of them we are allowed to do some work like cooking and carrying but on the seventh We are not because it is called Shabbat Shabbat on a Sabbath of Sabbaths. Six days of work followed by a seventh that is holy is mirrored in the structure of the year. The word Moaid doesn't just mean an appointed time. Wherever the Torah wishes to emphasize the dimension of Kadushah of holiness -
