The Light of the World

John spends a lot of time portraying Jesus as the embodiment of the king, but also as a type for us to know how we can ascend. And many times Jesus will say in the gospel of John that we need to be one with him as he is one with the Father. We're going to see some of those images later in the book of John. So now we're going to go into John chapter 9 and talk about the man who was blind from his birth. This is a foil. Now a foil is kind of a fencing term where you cross two sorts.
