Diffuse Lung Nodules - What Types of Diseases Come With Each Imaging Pattern?

The secondary pulmonary lobule is the smallest functional unit of the lung. At the center of it is an airway and a vessel; at the periphery is where lymphatic runs. Different nodular patterns will line up in different areas, resulting in different imaging patterns on things like a CT scan. For us to understand what types of diseases come with each nodular pattern, we have to understand the anatomic structure of a piece of the lung that drives the differential here.
