i can attest the fact even if after the new born phase, your kids are still mess up your sleep. This week alone, i've had we've had two separate kids come into our bedroom at one o'clock in the morning. What we want to avoid is in a really chronic disrupted sleep, or insufficient sleep over a long period of time. That's what the research shows is really most strongly associated with negative health outcomes. Do whatever you can to protect your sleep when you can and work with your partner so that each of you gets some decent sleep occasionally.
