Is the Father the Only Underived Person in the Trinity?

How could jesus be god if he died? This is a great question. We have to remember that traditionally, we'll think of jesus as having two natures, a divine nature and a human nature. And what we say of christ when he died is, well, christ died in his anature. Human natures die. Divine natures don't die. So it was in christ's human nature that he dies.
