Jerusalem - You Who Kill the Prophets and Stone Those Sent to You

In Matthew 23, Jesus points finger at religious leaders and the people who are making jerusalem what it is. This serves as a good moment to step back and look at jesus' inner action with his enemies. In chapter three, god could have ordained that this type of condemnation would come in force right at the beginning. But according to the text, these guys needed to be allowed to show their crustiness and anger on display so they could compare the two systems.
