Isn't That a Decentralized Community?

The idea of pay wall and these communities is more a matter of, i'm going to have this group of people that i trust. And so may that's te more the intent or the feeling of a decentralized community. But isn't that textbook definition of wald gardens? If i upload my content to utube, it is in tub's hands, and that's us google. So if i take my community there, trusting my host to be playing nice, and they push me out of the window and close the window behind me, then there's nothing i can do about that. They can do whatever they want inside their house. But i lose sovereignty. I lose the freedom to do
