At Kamakya there are a series of rock springs which rise up out of the stone, and each spring as a temple built around it. Each temple is to a different aspect of the mother goddess in the form of this great and perpetual longing. There are stone images of gods and goddesses in sexual union, and images of death and dismemberment and menstruation. The temple complex itself is red, priests wear red, the flowers given at the altar are red, ibiscus, red flowers mix with sacrificial goats blood.
