The marriage rate in europe, since the 19 sixties, has huffed. Americans considerd this type of long term partnering as a european style. Since 19 90, the share of cohabiting, non married couples has more than doubled. But it's hard to disentangle what reflects choices and what reflects the marriage market aspect of who we met.
