The majority of the time we find incidentally after getting UA, so me as a general pediatrician, if I'm seeing hematuria, one of the things I should probably do first is maybe get a family history. And then don't forget too, for kids with hearing loss, the thing that you may actually end up seeing is developmental delay. So my pretest probability that Al has Alport syndrome is pretty high in this case, especially with his family history and with my angering on his name. But it's important not to anchor. Still, I think that Alport Syndrome is probably the most likely.
