Colonial New Jersey

New York was founded in 16 38 by the dutch, who later handed it over to the english. New Jersey would be reorganized as a royal colony directly under the crown. Pennsylvania also boasted the city of philadelphia, which on the eve of the revolution had a population just north of 30 thousand. The western frontier became populated with hole farmers, while the costal areas dominated by merchants operating out of new york City. And finally we come to the southern colonies, south carolina, virginia, and georgia - these places were all sort of hanging out there waiting for someone to kick them off.
