The Multi-Pronged Intervention for Diabetes and Heart Disease

There was a JAMA study presented about a multifaceted intervention for patients with diabetes and heart disease. Preventative care, especially when it came to medication prescriptions, was coordinated among cardiologists and ochronologists and primary care clinicians. The investigators found that the difference was largely driven by the prescription of the SGLT 2 inhibitors and the GLP 1 receptor antagonists. This is an odds ratio of about 4.38, which was strongly statistically significant.
