The Shame of Writing a Book
The family wanted it not known that we had associated with this comming, very spotty background. It was a feeling of shame that prevented me and my father from writing something back then. So I definitely could not have written anything before my parents died. The more history I wrote and read, the more I came to understand that I was actually what I call a modest eyewitness to history.
