Pedro Sanchez's Attempt to Form a Government in Spain
On August 17th, Parliament will reconvene. A few days later, the King of Spain will start calling group leaders over to Sarsuela Palace and quiz them on who he thinks should be his candidate for prime minister. What we expect is that most of the party leaders will say that they think Sanchez has the greatest amount of possibility. The first vote, he will almost certainly lose because he would need 176 votes in favor of his candidacy. Once that vote officially ends, so once he fails, a two month clock starts ticking.
