Carlos Navarrette: How much suffering is necessary to improve things? He says maybe for our civilization, it would be like with double A. But then of course, the question is how deep is that rock bottom? Because it seems we're just going deeper and nothing changes.
How do we get a handle on complex systems thinking? What are the implications of this science for philosophy, and where does philosophical tradition foreshadow findings from the scientific frontier?
