Is There a Scientific Perspective to Research?

When we talk about research, we're not talking about simple observations. It's time to look at the science, do the home work and dive into research based on the scientific process. So i i just get a little, i get a little uneasy when we use the word research, that it's not actually from the more scientific perspective of, ok, this is pure review. This is from a journal.
