The Lord Has Restrained Me From Bearing
In verse two, serai says to abram, behold now, the lord hath restrained me from bearing. But it's like zion versus babylon again, or salam versus sodom again, or israel versus egypt again. Where will you place which kingdom is yours? Which kingdom are you trying to build? And if, if, to whatever degree that tradition might be substantiated. It's a beautiful thought to think of hagar choosing better a servant in the house of god than a ruler worldly kingdom that will go nowhere ultimately.
