The War on Terrorism
The war on terror began more than 20 years ago with the bush administration. The state department had counted nearly 32 foreign terrorist organizations scattered around the world when the twentya two thousand one a u m f was passed. Now, according to that congressionally mandated report, stands at 69. This wasn't just about iro and afghanistan. It was essentially a way to provi additional power, unilateral power, to the executive branch. And when you have that unchecked power, this ends up happening.
