Paul: When I think of my grandfather, I never think of him as a fighter. He always offered me a sip of his coffee, sweet and mud dark. So however long that domestic abuse lasted, me and my grandmother didn't speak about that. But I made sure that the poems that I wrote about him and her honored her memory. It's no wonder people think they can put their hands on somebody right? It's like, they believe that they own you, they own you,. Your person, your body.
