The Wagner Group's Importance in Russia's Transition
Putin's theme was always that Russia was robbed during the transition. They had this idea that they needed to start reclaiming territory. And, you know, Putin gained experience in setting up these pseudo-independent republics. So I think that this really is rooted in geopolitical imperatives and the fact that they need to expand.
