The Difference Between Sea Ice and Ice Shelf
An ice shelf is basically a bit of sea ice that's connected to a glacier or ice sheet. As the glacier flows down the coast line and on to the ocean surface, it kind of forms an ice shelf. Ice shelfs are only found off the coast of antarctic, a greenland, canada and the russian arctic. So they're not found in too many different places. But again, there is a differece between an ice shelf and sea ice. Sea ice is typically not that dangerous, beause t's not that thick. Whereas icebergs can be extremely large. And as you probably know only about one seventh or one eighth of the volume of an iceberg
