All Lives Matter

LZ Granderson: Black liberation does not mean Black dominance against another. The least respected person, I don't want to say on the planet, but at least in our country, is a Black woman. And yet, some of the most powerful people are Black women. LZ: Why do you think people embracing this, this whole idea of liberation of Black people? Also recognizing that the Black men and boys are being thrown away and forgotten. why embracing this actually liberates all of humanity?

Alicia Garza is an American Civil Rights organizer and writer best known for co-creating the international Black Lives Matter movement. Garza has become one of the most influential voices on the planet in a movement centered around the liberation of black people from authoritative systemic violence.

In 2013, three radical Black organizers — Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi — created a Black-centered political will and movement building project called #BlackLivesMatter. The project is now a member-led global network of more than 40 chapters.
