The Distinction Between Assault Weapons Bans and Permalous Carry
There's another reason to think that the court is going to go in the direction of declaring these laws unconstitutional. Justice Brett Kavanaugh was at one point a D.C. Circuit appeals court judge and he has a pretty famous dissenting opinion on the district's own assault weapons ban. The assault weapons ban advocates are butting up against the political reality of how difficult it is to pass new gun bans, even in very blue states. But they're running out of time likely to do it because the courts seem primed to step in and say these restrictions are not constitutional.
