Is the Ottoman Empire a Race?

Islam, as a category of identity making, is something that was produced by the ottoman empire, if i'm not wrong? Like that calike islam in some waysiand ican say this, like islam doesn't exist in some real ways. I guess that's where my encor question was going, which is a bunch of questions wrapped up into one.
