Is There a Moral Permission to Be a Hermit?

We romanticize the rugged individualist and loner. We hope that if we two were isolated, we could thrive. Does that mean that somebody who chooses to be a recluse is to some degree immoral? Yes. You do not have a general permission not to associate.
