How to Get Out of the Vietnam War

About two thirds of the men who served in vietnam were volunteers, but one third were compelled into joining the military through conscription or the draft. Every able bodied american mail from ages 18 to 26 was eligible to be drafted. Many among the wealthy and privileged tried to game this system to avoid being drafted.
