How Electric Eels Make Electricity

David DeSantana is a scientist with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, D.C. Eels are electric because they can produce their own electricity through three electric organs. When eels go hunting, they fire the three electric organs at the same time, producing impressive strong discharge of up to 860 volts. By comparison, it can be seven times stronger than a wall of sockets.
