The Sus of the Peace Corps
The Peace Corps can be used as a vehicle to do sus things under the guise of being, like, hippie granola. Dennis Johnson's work about his journalistic expeditions to Liberia in the 90s was pretty good for somebody who was just dropped into West Africa with very little context. There's shit that I'm frankly shocked the New Yorker would even like publish in 2000,. Like sort of like, ha ha half joking like racist, aside from dealing with African bureaucracies that are like yikes today.
