Is the Naming Rule a Good Idea?
The naming rule states that if you have a name that the s c deems to be indicative of what you hold, to invest 80 % of your assets in those things that are reference in the name. If you call it the patrick cleary semi conductor e t f, i need to invest 80% of my assets in companies that are deemed to be majority involved in semi conductors. But most people want to give a clue to the investor what they're buying. That's where the naming role is now really challenging, because we're seeing a lot of managers with great ideas that want to front run count of these new tech gies and get the pop from how ore economies evolving.
