The Dao De Jing
The Dao De Jing is the second most read and translated book in the world, second only to the Bible. Some historians believe that Laozu was a contemporary of Confucius; others claim he was a court astrologer or an amalgamation of multiple wise masters from sixth century BCE China. The key Daoist principles are inaction, simplicity, detachment, living in harmony with nature and continuous transformation. They also speak similarly to resist the influence of pleasures or pain, to desire, non-desire as well.
