The Beta Israel in Ethiopia

Ethiopian Jews live in a remote mountainous region of northwestern Ethiopia. Until recently, they could only be reached by foot or on horseback. They observe the Sabbath as indicated in the Torah and pray at straw-roofed synagogues. The Talmud came way later than other Jews so most likely it was something that was written and added much later.
