I've Got to Be a Sweet Little Girl
I loved my mother, but at times I wanted her to pull some mummy business out the bag. She would wear a floor-length electric blue coat and flash someone - she'd think it was hilarious. My sister also was my lifeline in Paris, even though we did do drugs together. So people used to think my granny was psychic because somebody would walk in the room and she'd go, oh God, you're okay? And they'd go, "Oh goodness! What's going on?" It taught me that your personality is shaped by that desire to take care of other people. You can't be depressed if you are trying to entertain others with jokes.
