The Process of Discovery in Motion
Pulsars are the rotating neutron stars that we thought might happen in some circumstances at the end of a super nova. Once you know to look for them, they're not that hard to find. I think the discovery that really put a pen in it was the discovery of a palsar heart of the crab nebula. It's the remnant of an old supernea, a star that blew up and spread most of its stuff out there in the universe.
