This was recorded at a time wher people were still playing with stereo pan because just, things weren't mono any more. In whole concept of stereo recording with a left and right channel that you could independently mess with in production was still fairly new. This is really a section where freddy mercury shows off his pretty amazing vocal control and vocal range.
