Inventing an engine is like building a car: you start from the tool and then iterate. But it's very dangerous, because it's a leap of faith that your engine actually does something better. And some things should not be this rough in the inner face; they should have doors right off the get go. Beauregarde says he was blown away by his first look at company finances.
