The Importance of Intention in Buddhist Ethics

I was very struck by how you have this very wide perspective, which includes taking into account the reality of the impact of racism and colonialism. The whole basis of Buddhist ethics is the mental, emotional states you're in, your motivations behind any action. And I didn't consciously bring the army perspective to the book, but that was always in the background. It's also important to have a sense of the discomfort that's going on or whatever's going on in your body and also what's going on with your mind.
