The United Nations' Call for No New Fossil Fuel Projects
Australia is currently debating legislation that's supposed to reduce Australia's emission. That brings us to the safeguard mechanism but before we get into the safeguard mechanism the Australian Institute has some new research. In direct contrast to the what the IPCC and the world scientists and the United Nations are calling for which is no new fossil fuel projects Australia as it turns out actually has quite a few in the pipeline. The total emissions from these 116 new projects would be 4.8 billion tons of CO2 equivalent by 2030 4.8billion tons.
