The Difference Between Cognition and Meta-Cognition
There's enough evidence to very seriously contemplate the possibility that cetaceans and pachyderms, and perhaps some other higher primates are self conscious. But there is a point in which you cross over crucial boundary and that's the boundary of instinct. And so when you become extremely meta conscious you stop listening to instinct,. You stop listening to this spontaneous intelligence of nature... That unplugs us from the web of instinct that keeps nature balanced. Well destroying the ecosystems of the planet will never destroy the planet give it a million years and it will with four trees and animals again. We would destroy the present ecosystem why, because we have become alienated from the ebb and flow of instinct.
