I don't think these people are not informed. I know that kind of group think is prevalent in Washington, but also no one has more access to information than these leaders. You cannot overstate how poorly informed some of their worldviews are. They apparently can't do a Google search, but they are sincere in believing this. And the one thing that both the Republicans and Democrats want to avoid is the pick a fight with their own financial industry. That's where a lot of this lies.
