How Did You Break Into Venture Capital?
Sally Kohn: My background is that I was originally born in Beijing, grew up there for the first half of my childhood. After graduation, I found myself in Silicon Valley working as a product manager for an early stage startup. And after that company exited, I then went to the other side of the table and became an ambassador at Andreessen Horowitz. She spent four years investing on the consumer team, looking at marketplaces, social, all kinds of consumer categories. Then towards the tail end of her time there, she began writing about this trend of what they called the passion economy.
