The First 11 Chapters of Genesis
There's a marked shift in the writing style between the first 11 chapters of genesis and the remaining one. The catholic church has addressed this fact with an encyclical called humani generus. In 19 50, pope pius the twelfth wrote an encyclicals called humani Generus. He said that while they are not conforming to historical conventions, they do nevertheless pertain to history in a true sense. But he added that it needs to be further studied by exegetes to figure out how this form of writing works.
