Introduction

This is the first in a series on media and its uncanny ability to shape our beliefs. We're going to be exploring the origins of modern mass media by looking at the work of nomchomski and edward herman published in 19 88 entitled manufacturing sent with many other references to chomsky's later work, entitled media control. What would a media landscape look like if such a concentrated level of consolidated power existed? Would we even know about it? Would it require a conspiracy on a level so vast that it would just be impossible?
