Comm Law is an ongoing series of indeterminate lengths where we look at the cases in front of the conservative majority Supreme Court and use them to examine our Constitution like we never have before. The type of law that the Supreme Court considered in the barbecue case, that's Title II of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, is what's known as a public accommodations law. In 2012, Charlie Craig and Dave Mullins wanted a cake to celebrate their upcoming wedding. They asked Jack Phillips, the owner and baker of Masterpiece Cake Shop near Denver, Colorado to make a cake for them. He refused because he said it would go directly against the teachings of the Bible.
