The Third Estate and the Toks

The third estate decided it would transact no official business whatsoever as a separate order. Conservative elements, including our old friend do premenil, were not about to let the liberals and the rabble seize the reins of power. The clergy then went to the nobles and got them to agree to a sit down. But if they were expecting to bring the third estate to heel by rejecting their overtures, the nobility badly misplayed their hand.
