Is There a Myth About Affirmative Action?
I would say it's perhaps the most pervasive myth in American society. I thought that was so important to write about, especially as the future of affirmative action is at stake. The narrative that I hear a lot is this idea that, oh, if you're a child of color, it's so much easier for you. And like speaking as a white person, that was not at all what I witnessed. My unit was mostly white and there was maybe one kid of color there at any given time.
