The D.C. water and sewer authority had not taken any action, nor had it informed the public about a potential widespread problem. A congressional investigation has found that the nation's premier public health agency only used flawed data to claim that high lead levels in D.C.'s drinking water did not pose a health risk to the public. Six years later, thanks to emails obtained by Mark Edwards through a Freedom of Information Act request, that Center for Disease Control report was proven to be falsified.
