Unelected Members of the House of Lords Trying to Protect Democracy

Many people will see a rich irony here, not only the irony of unelected members of t he house of lords like yourself seeking to protect democracy as you would see it. But that's sometimes what happens when a governing party tries to se its majority in the house of commons to try and change the rules of the elections in its favour. It wouldn't be seen as being e firme, but that's what they're trying to do in political terms. So yes, this opposition to a lot of people. And as you say, it is ironic, unelected lords trying to preserve democratic principles.
