The Importance of Honouring Domestic Violence

I think you have to honour that violence. It didn't feel appropriate to sort of create some sort of slapstick, farthical version of it. A record smather is shocking and funny, but it's immediately followed by a slap in the face. And so we went through, we went through coward stage directions, and we created a sort of score tally. They absolutely wanted to have equal agency and be equal aggressors in that. But if we look at the facts of domestic violence, they're not equal. Women between teenagers and 44 are most likely to die from abuse. The highest cause of death is death by partner. So that's terrifying.
